We had the pleasure of creating Erin & Chad’s engagement portraits this summer. Since then they moved to Austin, TX and then had their wedding in October out in California. Today, they are back to Des Moines for their wedding reception and NYE party at the Scottish Rite – it’s gonna be a blast! Before the festivities, we are going to be hitting the West End Architectural Salvage and Scottish Rite to put together their bridal fashion portraits.

It will be a very busy – yet exceptionally fun day. For now, enjoy this video we put together for the couple. Congrats Erin & Chad – we look forward to ringing in the new year with you and your family/friends!

Jessica is one of our 2011 high school senior reps, from Valley High School.  It was a treat having her represent our studio – a beautiful girl with a bubbly personality is always fun to work with!  Icing on the cake was the wide variety of looks she wanted us to capture – including 4 sports and a day on her grandmother’s farm.  To top it off, we added in some time in Winterset, always a great location for portraits.

We put Jessica thru the ringer when creating her sports portraits – starting with golf and working our way up to rugby and softball, finishing with some Nike-style volleyball art.  She even got to dive around on the grass and sand while we clicked away!

It was great traveling to her grandmother’s farm and watching Jessica interact with her favorite horse.  Our beauty team (www.genxvisual.com) created a new look for her once we arrived in Winterset, curling up the hair and adding color to her beautiful eyes to really make them pop.  Jessica loved the old town scene and even though we had a bumble bee issue at the park (look out for the huge bee!), Jessica looked gorgeous in her pink prom dress.

Enjoy this sampling from her session and a fun image video at the end.  Thank you again, Jessica, for selecting us to create your senior portrait art – we hope you are having an amazing senior year!

Featured: Ashley and Chris

What an amazing duo! Ashley and Chris exchanged vows in southwest Iowa in the spring yet they wanted  something creative and just for them.  We had the pleasure of putting together a very fun and meaningful set of bridal fashion portraits for them as they got all dressed up again to take over the Iowa State University campus.  Our beauty team (www.genxvisual.com) did a fantastic job of recreating Ashley’s wedding day look.

It was a near perfect summer day – a bit on the warm side – but we worked to keep the newlyweds cool.  We followed them around campus, going to some of their favorite spots.  Being a college sweetheart couple, finding spots that were meaningful to them was no problem at all!

After capturing some romance at the ISU campanile, we moved to Jack Trice Stadium, the home of the Cyclones!  The couple graduated from ISU, Ashley well on her way to becoming a veterinarian and Chris is the publisher of CycloneFanatic.com, so getting the true spirit of Iowa State involved was very important – and fun!

We completed their portraits with a large metallic gallery wrap from one of the stadium images and they completed the wall portrait with a storyboard of images from around campus.  A big thanks to Ashley and Chris for selecting us to create their bridal portrait art ,we wish you the best of luck in your new lives together.

Here is a sampling of images from their session, along with a fun image video at the end!

Congratulations Maddi!

It’s fun when we get an update from our past seniors, this one from a beautiful young woman we photographed last year.  Maddi recently graduated from  Carroll High School – the exciting part is she finished with a perfect 4.0 and first her class of 140 students!  Her dad claims Maddi got her intelligence from her mother, but after getting to know Mark and Kristi, it’s obvious they both did a great job with her.

Maddi will attend Northwest Missouri State this fall, which starts just in a couple weeks!  We are very proud of Maddi and hope she enjoys the special studio gift we will be sending to her soon.  Again, congratulations Maddi – and good luck at NWMSU!
